Oppdal MTB Trail Intro – Private Guide (2.5 Days)
New to the trails of Oppdal, or looking to transition from gravel to singletrack? This exclusive 2.5-day private weekend package is custom-built for 1–6 participants. Learn where to find the best flow, how to navigate the local terrain responsibly, and experience the stunning mountain trails of Oppdal under expert guidance.
What’s Included:
Day 1 Kick-off (2-3h ride): Equipment, suspension, and basic skills check on local flow trails, followed by an informal guide-meeting at a local bar (Svarte Får / Spisbar) where we map out the weekend over a meal (food included for the group).
Day 2 Epic (Full Day - 6h): Discovering Oppdal's finest singletracks tailored entirely to your stamina and skill level.
Day 3 Finisher (4-5h ride): High-mountain or deep-forest progression session to seal the deals of the weekend.
Local Knowledge: Complete introduction to Oppdal's trail etiquette—learning where the sheep graze, how to respect local landowners, and how to enjoy the nature sustainably all season long.
Logistics: Transport within 15 km of the town center is included daily. For 1–2 pax, transport in the guide vehicle is available upon request.
Add-ons & Logistics (Important Info):
Transport: For groups larger than 2 pax, guests are expected to use their own vehicles to the trailheads, or we can arrange group transport via Oppdal Minibuss / Taxi (Price upon request).
Lunch & Food
Lunch Options: We will enjoy a communal outdoor lunch every day. You can either bring your own packed lunch ("matpakke") or order our optional "Bakery Lunch Pack" add-on when booking.
Important Note:Please note that a gluten-free option is unfortunately not available for the bakery lunch pack.
Water & Snacks: Make sure to bring enough water and extra energy snacks (bars, nuts, etc.) to keep you fueled throughout the long days on the trails.
Recommended Equipment
To ensure a comfortable and safe weekend in the mountains, please review our recommended gear list. Remember, mountain weather in Oppdal can change quickly—even during summer.
The Bike: A well-maintained full-suspension or hardtail mountain bike suited for singletrack trails. (Please check brakes and tire pressure pre-trip).
Helmet (Mandatory): Wearing an approved bicycle helmet is strictly mandatory during all riding. No helmet, no ride.
Protection (Recommended): We strongly recommend wearing knee guards as a bare minimum for safety and confidence on the trails.
Clothing: * Dress in layers (wool or technical base layers are highly recommended).
A wind- and waterproof jacket (pack this even if the sun is shining).
Long-fingered cycling gloves for protection and grip.
Warm layers for our breaks (a light down jacket or fleece in your backpack).
Backpack & Spares:
A small backpack (10–20L) (big enough to fil all the ectra gear/food inside it")
A spare inner tube that fits your wheel size.
Pro tip: Bringing a spare derailleur hanger (drop out) specific to your bike frame is highly recommended to avoid weekend-ending mechanicals!
